Meta has published a new statement describing how it wants advanced artificial intelligence to develop around individual users, personal choice and broad access.

The August 10 update focuses on what Meta calls a positive path for personal superintelligence. The company argues that increasingly capable AI should be designed to help people create, learn, build businesses and pursue their own goals rather than being limited to a small number of institutions.

A major part of the announcement is access. Meta says it wants advanced AI to be widely available and affordable, and it also says it is working toward a fully private mode where conversations would be designed so that even Meta cannot access the information.

Meta also reiterated its support for open-source AI and indicated that more open-source model releases are planned.

For users and businesses, the practical takeaway is that AI platforms are moving beyond simple chat interfaces toward more personalized systems that can understand context and take action. That makes privacy, transparency and human review more important.
